Date 11 February 2026 Category City news Topic Town planning The City’s new Local Planning Strategy is now in effect and will guide the future direction of development in the City. The Western Australian Planning Commission has endorsed the City’s Local Planning Strategy. The Strategy sets the overall vision and direction of the City and will be used to guide future planning instruments, including a new Local Planning Scheme and Local Planning Policies. It incorporates elements of the City Plan: City Centre, which was separately endorsed by Council to guide development in and around the City Centre. View the Local Planning Strategy
